Mara Trax is a musical project from Maayan Nidam aka Miss Fitz and Vera Heindel. The first connection between the two was each other's music. In 2006 Maayan heard Vera playing at a party at Weekend Club - Berlin, while Vera was already familiar with Maayan's productions. At that time Vera had been a DJ for 6 years and was producing music on her own for one year, while Maayan had been producing for 9 years and djing for six. When they met in person they both felt there was a personal and musical connection they shared & so they decided to meet again, hang out & get to know each other better. Those gatherings led to an extended exchange about music, at which they played records to each other, talked about music and went out to different parties & clubs. Soon they decided they want to make music together. Their passion for raw, old school house grooves built the base for cooperative productions and dj gigs. Since then, the Mara project manifested itself in several DJ gigs (Panorama Bar, Robert Johnson, Arena Club, Club der Visionaere etc.) as well as on vinyls being released on the labels Cyclical Tracks (Madrid) and Oslo Records (Frankfurt).

Vera and Miss Fitz have only been working together for a short time, but the music they love to play is the sound of the time. Mixing dance music's current penchant for deepness with the old school tracks that they are consciously trying to evoke, the team are part of a new deep movement especially springing up around the cities of Frankfurt, Mannheim and the record labels Cecille and Oslo.
Before meeting in Berlin a few years ago, Vera and Miss Fitz were each forging their own path in the electronic music world. (They still are: Each plays out just as often solo as they do together.) Vera's first move was a residency at Offenbach club Robert Johnson, where she's been spinning since 2003. Miss Fitz, on the other hand, has released tracks for a variety of labels (Archipel, Raum…musik and Freak n' Chic to name just a few) as well as playing her Space Monkeys Unite night at Berlin's Watergate.
When the two get together, though, something special happens...

Das geht eigentlich gar nicht: Er ist einer der erfolgreichsten kanadischen
Produzenten im neuen Jahrtausend und war noch nie (!) in Stuttgart zu Gast.
Kann nicht sein oder? Dachte sich auch die Romy und hat prompt ein Date mit
dem smarten Matthias ausgemacht. Und woran erkennen wir uns, schrieb sie? An
der roten Rose? No, antwortete er, an meinem geschmeidigen, fesselnden,
mitreißenden Sound natürlich! Und die Romy war hin und weg.
Als musikalisches Wunderkind lernte Mathew Jonson schon in seiner Kindheit klassisches Piano, Schlagzeug und Percussion, die er dann schon mit 11 Jahren schon in Live-Bands spielte. Beeinflusst von dem Interesse seines Vaters an früher elektronischer Musik und deren Instrumenten begann Mathew
mit Keyboards, Sequencern und Sound Modulen zu experimentieren. Seit dem Alter von 10 Jahren benutzt er computerbasierte Sequencer und Klangmodule, die Wurzeln dessen, was einer der eigenständigsten Klangbilder heutiger
elektronischer Musik geworden ist.
So kam eines zum anderen: Mathew Jonson haute ein paar Bomben der Marke
„Decompression“ auf Labels wie Minus, Sub Static, Perlon oder Kompakt heraus und lancierte mit Wagon Repair selbst eine eigene renommierte Musikplattform. Ruhm heimste er damit nicht nur im Club ein, sondern bekam much respect von der ersten DJ-Liga um Hawtin, Väth, Garnier oder Tiga und wurde 2004 letztendlich in der Groove als bester Produzent des Jahres gewählt.
Was Mathew oft von anderen Künstlern abgehoben hat ist sein Talent zur Improvisation und Performance mit anderen Künstlern auf der Bühne. Das führte zu Formationen wie dem Modern Deep Left Quartet und Cobblestone Jazz, die sich durch Live Performances und Studio Sessions einen internationalen Ruf für ihre starken Kompostionen mit tiefer Seele geschaffen haben. Mathew hat dazu auf diese Weise mit Künstlern wie Luciano, Hrdvision und The Mole zusammengearbeitet, ständig auf der Suche nach Weiterentwicklung von elektronischer Musik.
Fazit: Bei einem Künstler von diesem Format, schmilzt die gute Romy einfach nur dahin und lässt ihn machen und tun wie er will...

Mini-Rave Teil 2, wir poltern weiter. Bereits im Mai 2008, es war schon angenehm warm, nicht so wie momentan, grillten wir im Park und freuten uns wie Bollerwagen auf Kollektiv Turmstraße. Denn das Duo gehört definitiv zu den Senkrechtstartern der letzten zwei Jahre und war auch mitunter dafür verantwortlich, dass wieder etwas mehr Liebe und Harmonie in die unterkühlte
Minimal-Kultur Einzug erhielt.
Denn egal welche ihrer Veröffentlichungen man auf Connaisseur, Ostwind, Dynamic oder ihrem eigenen Label Musik gewinnt Freunde zu hören bekommt, man erkennt sofort ihren einzigartig geschmeidigen Stil und es schleicht sich
augenblicklich ein davon-will-ich-mehr-Gefühl ein. Die Hamburger sind einfach nur deep, gefühlvoll-melancholisch und grooven dabei wie Hölle. Widerstand ist zwecklos.
Die beiden Köpfe Christian Hilscher und Nico Plagemann waren WG-Genossen und teilten dieselbe die Leidenschaft für elektronische Musik. Zunächst veröffentlichen sie ihre Stücke ausschließlich auf Netlabels bis schließlich, der erste Hit namens „Grillen im Park“ aus der Dose gelockt wurde, der selbst abgebrütesten Feierhasen das dicke Fell in zarte Gänsehaut verzauberte und schlaffe Nippel in knackige Erbsen verwandelte.
Ähnlich ergeht es einem bei den smarten Deep-House-Beats von Till von Sein, einer der Poster-Boys in der aktuellen Ausgabe der De:Bug. Seine Produktionen klingen so beautiful wie sein Name. Kaum zu glauben, dass Till von Sein seine Karriere als HipHop-DJ und Rapper startete und damit auch durchaus Erfolge feierte.
Irgendwann fehlte ihm aber der letzte Kick dabei, den er bei House bekommen sollte. Die Einflüsse von schwarzer Musik, wie Soul, Funk, Jazz und auch Rap nahm er aber kurzerhand einfach mit. Der Thirtysomething, mittlerweile in Berlin stationiert, neigt zu schmachtenden Flächen, einer Prise Melancholie, aber drückenden Beats. Das hört man auf seiner Durchbruch-EP „Gestern“ wie
auch wie auch allen anderen Releases an.
Dieser aufstrebende Act mit großer Zukunft und natürlich auch das Kollektiv werden wieder mal von unserem Top-Duo freundkarajan gebacked, die übrigens die Turmstraßen zum ersten Mal nach Stuttgart lockten und damit ein feines Gespür zeigten – jetzt wieder im Romy!

Još jedan nastup John Digweeda na Proton Radiu u svojoj emisiji "Transitions". Ovaj put ugostio je Francoisa K (François Kevorkian).
François Kevorkian (1954) je francuski Dj, remixer i producent. Živi u Americi. Smatra se jednim od predaka house muzike. DJ karijeru je započeo 1976. godine u New Yorku. Zaslužan je za mnoge remixeve u Prelude Records, a i vlasnik je izdavačke kuće Wave Records. Imao je mnogo nastupa, među kojima i japansku turneju sa Lerry Levanom prije njegove smrti.

U vrijeme ekonomske krize, recesije, depresije, klimatskih promjena, i ostalih nedaća kojima smo okruženi, imamo recept za vas - "popijte" Sirup i jednostavno zaplešite. Jer klub Sirup na Donjim Sveticama napokon je ušminkan i spreman za urnebesno dobru zabavu. Očekuje vas trodnevni clubbing sa impresivnim gostovanjima, počevši od 26.02. kada Confusion ekipa nastavlja sa svojom ZigZag večeri, gdje će ugostiti jednog od trenutačno najboljih showmana na sceni - jedinog i neponovljivog Drums of Deatha. Već sutradan, za DJ pultom naći će se jedan od, po mnogima, najtalentiranijih DJ-a današnjice Ivan Smaghhe, a za kraj svjetski putnik, finski producent - Bangkok Impact.

26.02.2009. - CetvrtakRijetko kome je pošlo za rukom napuniti jedan zagrebački klub u četvrtak navečer. No, iznimka potvrđuje pravilo, a entuzijasti iz Confusiona napravili su čudo! Na prošloj ZigZag avanturi sa čarobnjacima na gramofonima i mikrofonu, Jokerom i MC Nomadom, tražila se karta više. Pun Sirup, cool ekipa, uzavrela atmosfera, i u konačnici svi su bili sretni.
Confusion nam za ovaj put priprema potpuno drugačije gostovanje. Njegovo ime je
Drums of Death, a scenski nasput mu je "midle name". Našminkan poput Jokera iz Batmana, ovaj čudan lik je sve u jednom - DJ, MC i vokalist, sa zavidnim sposobnostima. Black Strobe, i jedan je od najtraženiji DJ-eva u Francuskoj, a u Sirupu će nas zapalii svojim deep tech electro zvukom. Počeo je karijeru sredinom 90-tih radeći u dućanu Rough Trade, u kojem i upoznaje
Arnaud Rebotinija, te zajedno pokreću projekt
Black Strobe. Da je upravo on jedan od najtalentiranijih DJ današnjice, potvrđuje i angažman od 10 godina u klubu
Pulp u Parizu, Fabricu u Londonu te Robert Johnsonu u Frankfurtu. Istovremeno s kolegicama iz Pariza, Chloe i Jenifer Cardini, pokrenuo je projekt Kill the DJ, koji se bavi promocijom elektronske glazbe u Francuskoj.
Ivan Smaghhea hrvatska publika mogla je premijerno vidjeti i prošlo ljeto u klubu Porat. Francuskoj zvijezdi, ovaj put za DJ pultom pridružit će se i DJ Sergej.

Sleazy disco element u njegovoj muzici, kojem se od prvih ploča uvijek vjerno vraća, je baziran na moćnim bass linijama. Uvijek najplesniji remixevi na raznim 12" izdanjima, kao što su ona od
Telexa i Alexander Robotnicka, su u pravilu Semijevi. Nije ni čudno kada su mu neupitni uzori
Giorgio Moroder, Patrick Cowley, Kraftwerk, Yellow Magic Orchestra... Od novijih producenata na Samijevoj listi nalaze se Legowelt i I-F, sa kojima Semi čini osnovu današnje rastuće nizozemske electro i disco scene. Hrvatska ovom umjetniku nije nepoznata. Imao je prilike nastupati 14. 12. 2007. godine u popularnom alternativnom okupljalištu u Sisku, klubu Skwhat.

Collective Sounds 13.03.2009. u klubu Aquarius Zagreb priređuje još jednu Good Looking večer.
Kao glavnoga gosta dovode nesumnjivo jedno od vodećih imena na svjetskoj drum’n’bass sceni londonskog DJa, producenta, remixera i umjetnika Nookie aka Cloud Nine/Second Vision/New Balance (zajedno sa Blame-om) – pravog imena Gavin Cheung.
Što reći o legendarnom Nookie-u? Ne previše, a da već nije rečeno. Glazbenik koji je završio studij računalne tehnologije, proveo mnogo godina u opremanju svog kućnog studija, a zatim krenuo na svoj “glazbeni put”.
Gavin Cheung je tvorac mnogih drum’n’bass klasika na nekim od najvećih labelova: Phuzion Records, Good Looking, Moving Shadow, Reinforced, Absolute2,… Još kao školarac bavio se electrom, hip hopom i jazz funkom, a radio je u vinyl shopu Red Records (kasnije poznat kao Unity Records) gdje ne samo da je susreo mnoge važne ljude iz glazbene industrije, nego već tada postaje renomirani DJ. Tvorac je jedne od prvih rave himni “Give A Little Love” koja izlazi na Absolute 2, a zatim i na Reinforced Records. Uskoro i druga “himnica” “The Sound Of Music” izlazi na istom labelu te Nookie postaje centar pažnje glazbene industrije. “Snow”/”Jazzmin” na Moving Shadowu, jedan je od prvih tune-ova koji koristi pravi jazz double bass. U ranim 90.-ima Nookie-eva izdanja uglavnom su sa potpisom njegovog prvog labela Daddy Armshouse Records.
Tijekom svoje karijere radio je sa mnogim velikim glazbenim imenima, a njegov rad posebno podupiru imena poput: Fabio, Grooverider, LTJ Bukem i Ray Keith. Zahvaljujući svom velikom uspjehu i “worldwide” statusu, Nookie je kroz svoj rad na putovanjima diljem zemlje upoznavao različite kulture, te utjecaje tih kultura na glazbu što je sve primjenjivao u svom radu te kao rezultat izdao nekoliko svojih albuma na kojima su izašli mnogi klasici poput: “Paradise” (Café del Mar), Distant Affair (Sony Records), Living in Ghetto (Sony Records), Continental Drift (Good Looking), te mnogi remixovi: Goldijev Inner City Life, MC Conradov “Energetic Poetry”, The Pedge-ov “What’s Up Partner?”, te mnogih drugih kao: Cutty Ranks, Flourgon & Ninjaman, Doc Scott, Omni Trio, Adam F, Ganja Crew,…
Nakon intenzivnog rada sa Good Lookingom, Nookie 2006. godine osniva svoj label PHUZION RECORDS na kojem od tada uglavnom izlaze Nookie-eva drum’n’bass izdanja, te sa potpisom svoje kuće uskoro izdaje svoj, od strane publike željno očekivani, 5.album “Beyond Blue”. Njegov trenutni projekt uključuje Strictly Digital, mp3 web stranicu sa mnogim tune-ovima poznatih i tek nadolazećih producentskih imena. Također je organizator i domaćin izuzetno uspješnih drum’n’bass partija “Atmosphere” i tjednih radio emisija na Radio Ministry Of Sound.

Ne želim previše filozofirati tko je i što je Tomislav Pasanec nama svima poznat pod pseudonimom Blacksoul.
Po meni jedna od prisutnih karika na hrvatskoj glazbenoj sceni koja jednostavno zaslužuje svirati češće na domaćem terenu.
Stoga smo našem producentu koji je van naših granica pronašao sreću, odlučili pružiti priliku da zasvira u primaćoj sobi Mastersa
te da nas odvede tamo gdje se Freilauf osjeća doma, a to su nekonvecionalne dubinske vode s pokojim izronom u slatke zaštićene akvatorije.

Johnny D. became acquainted with a wide array of music styles at an early age - from Tigrinya, the Eritrean music of his heritage, to hip-hop, funk and soul. During the breakbeat-craze in the Rhein-Neckar delta he first came into contact with electronic music at the age of thirteen, soon afterward deciding to take to the turn tables. His first electronic music sets at modest breakbeat events followed, and Johnny D. quickly developed into a versatile artist active in the Mannheim Collective. He met Ray Okpara in 1999 by the good grace of their mutual hip-hop interest. They would both later organize the Rajo-Music house parties and spin together at the Loft Club in Ludwigshafen.
Johnny D. was also active in the Rhein-Neckar party scene as one of the co-founders (Ray Okpara, Federico Molinari, Nekes)of the Mannheim Zoo Club, which quickly rose to wild popularitywith its rotating line up of national and international acts, and local DJs.
Johnny D's style continued to develop under the influence of minimal electronic music, prompting him to try his hand at producing. His musical versatility makes it difficult to define his style, but one can safely locate his music and vinyl selection somewhere between deep-house, minimal, and techno. The outcome of this spectrum of styles is his own style which is arising itself on vinyl and affectionately arranged live acts. His first release Manipulation and Gualia came out on Oslo rec., the label of his 2 old friends Federico Molinari and Nekes, in june 07. So another chapter was opened for him as musican which he will release now on further...

Born in Athens, Greece in the mid eighties.Mark Spanoudakis aka Kreon found himself in front of a huge collection of records that his father owned and he started touching vinyl from a young age...Jazz,classic rock,pop,soul,disco even country was some of his influences that he collected before start picking music for some of his first home parties at the age of 15.Thats what started getting him into buying some new,dancy and fresh stuff...
In the year 2007 Lemos and him tried to join their influences and produce some rather different style from their own...Resopal was the label that believed in them and released their first ep as Kreon & Lemos which had unexpected impact to the whole dance scene.In the same time Mark's try to express himself with more percussive elements and natural sounds released in a Frankfurt based label called Below.Shake n make entered the charts of many dj's including the top 50 of Groove magazine.
Producing stuff that finds expression in didnt stop him from do what he loves most.Buy more and more records of different style,that's actually makes his sets really unpredictable,in which you can listen from U.S. and minimal house,funk,techno and jazz...!Of course his young age can promise alot to Mark but hard work is all that counts after all....After all,time will show everything...
